Leading Lady Yvette Nicole Brown and BET Networks Presents Original Film 'Always A Bridesmaid'
Updated: Nov 18, 2019
BET is set to air their new indie original, Always A Bridesmaid.
The premiere for the film took place Monday night in West Hollywood celebrating many "firsts" for the cast. Actress Yvette Nicole Brown makes her debut as a lead screenwriter in the film. Brown, who starred in the hit show, Drake & Josh, was a moving force through the entire project.
She also plays character "Pastor Althea Brody " as well as being the executive producer. As a Black woman in Hollywood, she fearlessly defies all boundaries set against her.
This rom-com follows the life of Corina James, who has been a bridesmaid in so many weddings, that she loses count. Will she ever become a bride herself? Will she ever find true love? Well you are going to have to watch to find out.
Always A Bridesmaid connects and relates to the many people who have a hard time finding a romantic partner, in today’s society. The film dances with the question: “Is marriage for everyone?”, and does so, with a comedic twist.
Not to mention, the cast and many key players behind the scenes are also Black. Jordan Calloway (Riverdale), and Javacia Leslie (God Friended Me), star in the film, while Marcel Spears (The Neighborhood), Richard Lawson (How Stella Got Her Groove Back), & Affion Crockett (The Wedding Ringer), play supporting roles in the romantic comedy. Representation of different cultures is key to inspiring the next generation. We love to see it!
